At the moment the Bijlmerfotografiecollectief consists of two
amateur photographers. Besides all sorts of subjects they regularly
take photographs in and around the Bijlmermeer. Most pictures were
taken during lost moments in our daily life; a few hours before
sunrise, at Sunday afternoons and Saturday after shopping. Every now
and then we organize photo shoots.
The fist photographer of the collective, also initiator of this cooperation, is Rudolf van Daelen. He started taken during the
seventies. At the age of twenty five he lost interest in photography
only to rekindle the hobby in 2004. Recently he bought a Fujifilm
Finepix S5Pro, especially for portrait and model photography. Next to it
he owns a Canon EOS 30D, his preferred brand, while his old EOS 300D
and D70s both double as backup.
The second photographer of the collective is Claudia Poppe. She
started recently. The compact camera, a Canon IXUS she got in 2007,
quickly became to limited for her and in 2008 she switched to using a
singe lens reflex camera. At the moment she uses a Canon EOS 300D and
frequently accompanies Rudolf.
We both live in a green suburb at the South side of Amsterdam, called the Bijlmermeer,
since a number of years. Besides the cultural differences you can
find plenty of nature in Amsterdam Southeast, as the Bijlmermeer is
generally called lately. Sometimes as gardens, grass strips and of
course the Gaasperpark. Here you also find pictures of the
Bijlmerpark before the gigantic remake (which is still going on).
